Dominic at work, having a laugh!

Dominic hand carves each bird individually. There is no doubt that each one has a character all of it's own. Françoise then initiates the painting with stains which allows the grain to show through, some of the birds are left in their natural state which is also very beautiful.

A winter's day in Africa

A moment in the sun, outside the old carriage house. This beautiful house used to be a farm owned by an Irishman over 100 years ago it then became a monastery and now we are lucky to call it our home & studio where these beautiful birds are born.

wings are ever the same weight and therefore the points of balance will vary
and need to be individually balanced.
